It has been a busy half term for 4JH

As part of Outdoor Education this term 4JH have been Orienteering around Williamson’s park and then climbing and canoeing at the Bendrigg Trust. This week, which also happens to be the coldest of the year, we went canoeing on Killington Lake. Niall, Nathan and Will all embarked on a journey across the lake with the support of their Teaching Assistants and Instructors from the Bendrigg Trust. At the halfway point we stopped for Hot Chocolate and biscuits, to replenish our energy and give us a much needed boost of warmth! We then continued on to an island inhabited by Cormorants and Canada Geese before returning back to the shore. Nathan said “My superior intellect guided me throughout the canoeing trip”. This was Niall’s first time canoeing and he said “It was quite cold but I really enjoyed it and would love to do it again”.

In other 4JH news the Craft Coffee Shop has been going from strength to strength and we have made enough of a profit to buy some new equipment. We also held a special coffee shop in honour of Burns Night serving Haggis, Neeps and Tatties.
