Underley Garden School made a huge effort this year, raising money for Comic Relief.
In HT5 class, each young person had their own job to turn the classroom into a well-run café, they had music playing in the background and each young person had a station: juice, snacks, toast, smoothies, hot drinks, milkshakes and waiters. One young person managed the bookings and ensured payment had been taken before people left- all for a good cause!
They worked throughout the afternoon, being professional and mature throughout. Once the café had closed to customers, everyone had a well-deserved rest while staff took their order and served them. They raised £45 for Red Nose Day, a fantastic effort by all!
There were some hilarious outfits to behold in honour of comic relief, along with so many young people wearing the classic red to show their support!
This year, the young people designed their own red noses, showing their artistic flair. The noses were displayed and sold on sticks, creating a fun and inclusive accessory to really show each of their wonderful personalities. As always, we are so proud of our school and what the young people achieve by working together.
In total, we raised a huge £121.05 to support people struggling with the cost-of-living crisis and tackle issues such as homelessness, mental health problems and food poverty in the UK and around the world!
