Najeebah celebrated EID at the end of May whilst we were on Half Term break. When we returned we decided to explore Najeebah’s religion within class and find out the history and meaning behind the celebration by watching videos in class and listening to Najeebah explain about her outfit and traditions. Najeebah wore her hijab, made cakes and invited staff and her peers to try traditional Indian ‘sweets’ sent to her by her parents. We decorated a table with balloons and Jo Savage decorated the pupils and staff hands with henna patterns. Najeebah even completed her own henna design on Jo! Najeebah really enjoyed telling people about the celebrations she usually has (out of lockdown).
