Underley Garden celebrated World Book Day on Thursday 7th March with everyone attending school as their favourite book character. It was great to see everyone going to so much effort. From Non-Fiction, traditional Fairy Tales to Modern Classics, you name them they were here.
Young people took part in a bookmaking competition with so many creative ideas, judging was especially hard, a very well done to all.
Throughout the day various literacy based activities were held in classrooms across the school. young people were engaging and participating in a Roald Dahl quiz, investigating authors, a dance and drama session to celebrate Oliver twist, investigating book types, writing book reviews and classes joining together to share a story at snack time.
Stories were chosen, told and shared in each and every class with both young people and staff reading as much as they possibly could. But above all, the day brought enjoyment to all.
